Launch Monitor Protection

A protective case for a launch monitor is the cheapest insurance in the room. These units sit in the line of fire — on the floor behind the ball or mounted overhead — and it takes exactly one shanked wedge to end a piece of equipment worth several thousand dollars.

A few hundred dollars against that math isn't a hard decision. If you're running a radar unit on a garage floor where other people also swing, buy the case at the same time as the monitor.

  • Measure your ceiling firstTen feet is comfortable with a driver. Nine works for most people. Eight is tight but doable with the right layout. Measure before you spend a dollar — it decides everything else.
  • Width and depth matter tooYou need room to swing without clipping a wall, plus space behind the ball for a launch monitor to read it properly.
  • Check what talks to whatNot every launch monitor runs every software package, and not every projector suits every throw distance. Ask me before you mix brands.
  • The big stuff ships freightEnclosures, screens and full packages come by freight from the manufacturer, not in a box on a van. Plan for it if you have a date in mind.

Small accessories move quickly. Enclosures, screens and packages ship freight from the manufacturer and take longer — ask me for a current lead time on anything specific.
