Your projector brings your golf simulator to life, displaying virtual courses, driving ranges, and shot data on your impact screen. If you're working with a limited budget, this may be an area where you can save money, but choosing the wrong projector can leave you with a dim, blurry, or poorly fitted image.
Start with the aspect ratio. Your projector's aspect ratio should work well with your impact screen and the image produced by your simulator software. Common formats include 16:9 and 4:3. Matching the right format to your screen helps you make the most of your available display area and avoid unnecessary empty space or image cropping.
Next, consider brightness and resolution. Projector brightness, measured in lumens, affects how well the image stands out in your room. If your simulator space has ambient light, you'll generally want more brightness. Resolution affects image clarity, particularly when displaying detailed courses and text. Consider how sharp you want the image to look and how large it will be projected.
Throw distance and mounting position are equally important. Every projector has a specific throw ratio that determines how far away it needs to sit to produce an image of a given size. Before purchasing, make sure it can fill your screen from your available mounting position. You should also consider whether a ceiling mount, floor mount, or another installation method works best for your setup.
Finally, think about your budget and overall experience. You don't necessarily need the most expensive projector on the market, but you do want one that fits your screen, produces a clear image, and works within your room's lighting and space limitations.
The bottom line: Choose a projector based on your screen dimensions, desired image quality, room lighting, and mounting options—not just its price. Getting these details right will help you create a sharp, immersive golf simulator experience without spending more than necessary.

Before you order
Most of the expensive mistakes in a simulator build happen at the ordering stage, not the building stage.
Straight answers
Yes. Everything here ships straight to you. I'm a dealer for The Net Return, Carl's Place and GolfBays, and I'll answer setup questions whether or not you hire me to build it.
If you're within about 90 minutes of Clarksville, yes. The space assessment is free — I measure the room and tell you honestly what fits before anything gets ordered.
Measure ceiling height, width and depth, then call or text me the three numbers. That's usually all I need to point you at the right size.
Bring it. I'll build around a launch monitor or screen you already have, and it comes off the quote.
Small accessories move quickly. Enclosures, screens and packages ship freight from the manufacturer and take longer — ask me for a current lead time on anything specific.
Inspect freight before you sign for it and note any damage on the delivery paperwork. That one step is what makes a claim easy instead of a fight. Call me and I'll help you work it.
Next step
Send me ceiling height, width and depth. I'll tell you what works and what won't — no charge, whether you buy from me or not.
