Will this work in your space?

You need:

  • 9–10 ft ceiling — the unit mounts overhead, 21–25 inches in front of the tee
  • 10–12 ft from the golfer to the screen
  • 14 ft of swing clearance around the hitting position
  • Solid ceiling structure to carry 22 lbs

Ceiling height is the gate on this one. If you're under 9 feet, this isn't your launch monitor and I'd rather tell you now. Send me a photo and your ceiling height at 931-278-5630 and I'll confirm the fit before you spend anything.

What it is

APOGEE mounts overhead and reads the ball with cameras. No marked balls, no dots on your clubs, no lining anything up before you swing. You grab a ball out of the tray and hit it.

Because it's ceiling-mounted, it doesn't care whether you're right or left handed — nobody moves anything between players. That matters more than it sounds like it should if two people are going to use the room.

It also ships with a one-year E6 by TruGolf ENJOY subscription, which covers 15,000+ courses, practice ranges, club fitting, bag mapping, and online play. That's a real chunk of value bundled in — most monitors at this level leave you to sort software out separately.

Who it's for: Golfers building a dedicated room with the ceiling height to support it, who'd rather set it up once and forget about it than fiddle with placement every session.

Who it isn't for: If your ceiling is under 9 feet, or if you're planning to move the unit between rooms, a floor-standing or side-mounted monitor is the better call. This one's meant to live in one place.

What I'd tell you if you called

The ceiling mount is the whole job. Twenty-two pounds hanging over your head needs real blocking between joists, not drywall anchors. This is the part people underestimate, and it's the part I'd handle for you.

Budget for the PC. E6 2026 wants an i7 10th gen or newer, 24GB of RAM, and an RTX 3060 with 12GB. That's a real machine, not a laptop you already own. E6 Connect runs on less — Windows 10, i5, 8GB, a 1070 — so there's a lighter path if you're not chasing max settings.

Club face angle has an asterisk. Some lighting setups and club finishes need a small metallic sticker for accurate face angle data. Stickers come in the box. Everything else reads off the ball, so your trajectory data is unaffected either way.

Plan the mount before you frame. If your room isn't built yet, tell me. Blocking for a ceiling mount costs almost nothing during framing and turns into cutting drywall later.
